PT MRT Jakarta is holding a number of activities starting from March 6-31, to commemorate two-year MRT operation with the theme "Awakening and Sustainability".

There are several activities in the event, namely, digital communication competitions throughout the MRT Jakarta social media (Instagram, Twitter, and Tiktok), photography competitions, collaborative webinar series with nine MRT Jakarta Accel startup partners, journalistic work competitions, MRT Jakarta virtual ride, and MRT. Jakarta Youtube live from four selected stations.

PT MRT Jakarta President Director William Sabandar said, the series of program activities was a manifestation of the company's commitment to continue serving the community, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It will be held virtually considering the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic," he said, Monday (3/8).

According to him, the whole series of programs was getting more festive with various promos and attractive prizes. "We'll give door prizes to passengers traveling using the MRT for the period of March 8-22," he explained.

He added the MRT was inaugurated on March 24, 2019. At that time, more than 33 million people had used the first subway service in Indonesia.

As for the information the PT MRT Jakarta is currently building a phase two MRT lines from Bundaran HI to Kota, which is planned to be completed in March 2025 (Bundaran HI - Harmoni) and in August 2027 (Harmony - Kota).

"Its presence is a new breakthrough for public transportation. Not only increasing mobility, but also providing other benefits such as improving air quality and being one of the solutions to overcome congestion," he stated.
