Dispora Coaches 568 Athletes with Disabilities

During COVID-19 pandemic, Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) continues to coach 568 athletes with disabilities.

We should be able to maintain their best performance

Jakarta Dispora Head, Achmad Firdaus said, coaching during the pandemic is needed to maintain the quality of athletes' performance. It is carried out through virtual training program or direct training at sport facilities which required athletes to implement strict health protocols.

"We should be able to maintain their best performance. After sport facility regulations are issued, they can do training activities with several conditions, such as swab test for athletes before and after the activity," he explained, Wednesday (3/10).

In order to maintain their performance, coaching is carried out as preparation for participating in sport events or competitions at national and international levels. Thus they can be ready in prime condition to participate in sport events.

"Athletes with disabilities coached by Dispora are also the members of National Paralympic Committee (NPC), Indonesian Deaf Sports Association (Porturin), and Special Olympics Indonesia (SOIna)," he informed.
