Document Restoration Service Provided in Kampung Melayu

East Jakarta Library and Archives (Pusip) Sub-agency held important documents restoration and digitization service for flood-affected residents in Kampung Melayu Urban Village Office, Jatinegara, on Wednesday (3/10). This service is available until the next three days.

We have coordinated with urban villages which affected by flood to hold document restoration program

Jakarta Library and Archives Agency (Dispusip) Head, Wahyu Haryadi mentioned, this door-to-door service is provided to help residents whose documents were damaged due to flood. In order to prevent document from being lost, his side restored those document and archived it in digital form.

"Document restoration program is carried out simultaneously in Jakarta. It will be carried out in stages in total 28 urban villages in five cities until April," he stated.

Through this service, his side restored variety of document types. Such as diploma, family cards, birth certificates, marriage certificates, land certificates, and other important documents.

East Jakarta Pusip Sub-agency Head, Eka Nur Etikaputra stated, document restoration service in Kampung Melayu Urban village is held on March 10, 12, and 15. If residents still need the service, it will be reopened again. Residents can also come to Pusip Sub-agency Office in Rawa Bunga. 

"We have coordinated with urban villages which affected by flood to hold document restoration program. We hope urban village heads can socialize residents about this door-to-door service," he conveyed.

Yuswardi (39), resident of RT 15/08 Kampung Melayu admitted that he is very grateful because he can use this service to digitize important documents such as family card, diploma, and marriage certificate because he is worried those documents will be damaged when flood occurs.

"Document restoration program is very useful because it can help residents whose documents are damaged. Moreover, Kampung Melayu is prone to flood. They will be troubled if they don't archive it," he closed.
