10,809 Police Secure Labor and FPI Rally

As much as 10,809 police personnel are deployed securing the big rally from labor and religion organization who joined in Gerakan Masyarakat Jakarta (GMJ), Monday (11/10).

"We deployed 10,809 personnel to anticipate  the labor and religion organization rally at Jakarta City Hall, and give comfort for citizens," said Head of Metro Jaya Police, Gen. Insp. Unggung Cahyono, at Jakarta City Council building, Jalan Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta.

He detailed that the personnel are consist of 3,000 Metro Jaya Police personnel, 4,000 Central Jakarta Resort Police, 12 SSK of National Police Headquarter, and 1,300 Mobile Brigade personnel.

About 900 police personnel are deployed to guard City Council and City Hall. "We also prepare personnel at State Palace and DPR building," he added.

Unggung is optimistic that the rally runs smoothly. It is because the protesters' representative has met the council.

Meanwhile, 30 representatives of the protesters were received by City Council Deputy M Taufik, Abraham Lunggana or commonly known as Lulung. There was also Habib Rizieq Shihab inside the building. After meeting, M Taufik, Lulung and some city council members went down to meet the protesters.

"We have talked with them, and inline with our thought. Please hold the rally smoothly," Taufik uttered.

The protesters finally leaved City Council building and continue the rally to City Hall.
