North Jakarta Promotes Time Trials for Container Truck Activities

The North Jakarta administration held a socialization on the trial implementation of the container truck operational time schedule on Jalan Plumpang Semper, Koja, North Jakarta, on Wednesday (3/24).

On that occasion, North Jakarta Mayor Ali Maulana accompanied by his partner Juaini Yusuf, Dandim 0502/JU Commander Col. Inf. Roynald Sumendap and North Jakarta Metro Resort Police Traffic Vice Chief Comr. Pol. Sunardi, also gave flower garlands and leaflets to container drivers as a form of support for the continued operation of heavy vehicle activities in North Jakarta.
North Jakarta Mayor Ali Maulana Hakim disclosed that his party was trying to facilitate and regulate the smooth passage of goods from and out of Tanjung Priok Port and to implement the interests of the road user thus they could traffic safely and comfortably, as well as minimize the occurrence of accidents.

With the frequent occurrence of congestion and trauma to the community is because of frequent accidents when doing activities simultaneously and in line with heavy container transport and large tonnage trucks," he expressed, Wednesday (3/24).
By doing so, the public and related parties were aware of the hours of heavy vehicle passage.
"Therefore we has set the operational time schedule for container truck on Jalan Raya Plumpang to Simpang Lima Semper, Koja Sub-district, where they are prohibited from passing in the morning at 6 AM to 9 AM and in the afternoon at 4 PM to 9 PM," he explained.
He continued that it had previously gone through in-depth studies and went through various considerations. Adjustments were also made to accommodate all parties.
"We continue to accommodate the interests of Tanjung Priok Port as the center of the economy as well as the comfort, security and tranquility of the community in their activities," he expressed.
North Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency Head Harlem Simanjuntak added, the first trial was conducted on Jalan Raya Plumpang to Simpang Lima Semper, Koja Sub-district. Then the next stage would be implementd at Jalan Cilincing Raya, Cilincing Sub-district.
"During the trial, we have 20 personnel in the morning and 20 personnel in the afternoon. This trial will be held for one month," he said.
Traffic Engineering Prepared
The Transportation Sub-agency is also about to apply traffic engineering and deploy personnel around the location. It is done to facilitate and regulate the smooth entry and exit of goods from and out of Tanjung Priok Port.
During these times, traffic engineering for trucks originating from Pegangsaan Dua to Tanjung Priok Port can pass through Pegangsaan Dua - Simpang 5 Semper - Jalan Tugu Raya - Kebon Baru Traffic Light - Tanah Merdeka Traffic Light - Kramat Jaya - Pos 9 Pelabuhan.
As from Tanjung Priok Port to Pegangsaan Dua, trucks can pass through the Port - Pos 9 - Jalan Enggano - Jalan Permai - U-Turn North Jakarta Polres - Jalan Yos Sudarso - Artha Gading - Coca Cola Traffic Light - Perintis Kemerdekaan - Pegangsaan Dua.
