Rorotan TPU Starts to Be Operated

The Rorotan Public Cemetery (TPU) in RW 09, Rorotan Urban Village, Cilincing, North Jakarta has returned to operate as of today, Friday (3/26).

Today, Rorotan TPU has started receiving funeral services

North Jakarta Parks and Urban Forest Sub-agency Head Mila Ananda expressed the cemetery was currently prioritized for the bodies of COVID-19.

"Today, Rorotan TPU has started receiving funeral services. Two bodies have been buried and there is one more body but it is still on the way," she expressed.

She explained it was prioritized for the bodies with Jakarta ID cards as they were in an emergency condition given the availability of burial grounds for COVID-19 patients in Jakarta area.

She went on to say that the cemetery construction was still ongoing. Of the total land area of 25 hectares, 2 hectares of which were earmarked for the burial. For the initial stage, 1,500 grave plots had been prepared.

"Everything is still being prepared in stages, including access roads, lighting, etc," she continued.

Her side also had deployed 18 officers divided to three teams for supporting the burial process of the bodies of COVID-19.

"We prepare officers including four security officers. In the future, the cemetery will be styled like any other TPU," she closed.
