The Jakarta Environmental Agency (LH) together with one of technology companies in the field of transportation services has signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen collaboration in efforts to control and reduce waste, especially single-use plastic bags.

The agreement emphasizes education and training for eco-friendly business partners in the Gojek ecosystem, especially GoFood business partners and driver partners for the next one year.
Jakarta LH Agency Acting Head Syaripudin said this collaboration was an embodiment of one of the pillars of Sustainability Gojek, GoGreener, which aims to run business and operations in a responsible manner towards the environment.

He explained it supported the Jakarta Provincial Government's achievement in an effort to increase public awareness in Jakarta, including partners, of the importance of adopting an eco-friendly lifestyle through training and outreach programs that would be carried out by both parties.
"We have been following and supporting the GoGreener program since it was first launched in 2019. We appreciate their steps that use technology to consistently innovate to encourage Jakartans to be more concerned about the environment, in an easy way," he explained.
In line with these efforts, he assessed, Gojek also supported the large-scale social collaboration (KSBB) program in the field of solid waste which is coordinated by the LH Agency through the procurement of sorting trash cans.
"It aims to provide access to the community in optimizing waste sorting activities," he added.
Sustainability Gojek Group Head, Tanah Sullivan uttered that the GoGreener program was to consistently realize eco-friendlier business operations, supported by the use of technological innovations to drive behavior change on a large scale.
He appreciated the LH Agency's trust, as his party received full support since the beginning GoGreener was launched in 2019.
Hopefully the collaboration could further affirm the joint commitment to have a positive impact on the environment, especially to create a Jakarta that is healthier, more comfortable and eco-friendly.
"We use a data-based and science-based approach to identify the root of the problem, thus we can develop appropriate and effective targets and strategies in encouraging all parties in our ecosystem to make the transition to be more environmentally responsible," he closed.
