She went on to say that the dissemination of legal information through legal education was aimed at increasing public awareness of the prevailing laws. Hopefully, all forms of violation of the law could be minimized as the public knew that there were strict sanctions imposed if they broke the law.
In this legal education, there were a number of sources presented to give material on inheritance law, handling of land disputes based on the Agrarian and Spatial Planning Minister/National Land Agency Head Regulation number 21/2020, as well as the presence of the state through Law number 16/2011 on Legal Aid.
One of the participants was Koja Urban Village's LMK Chairman, Yurisman Syam added that most people did not understand the legal rules regarding land disputes, the ITE Law and others. Through the legal education, he received complete information. Further, the material received would also be conveyed to residents thus they understood each other and complied with applicable legal rules.
"This activity is very good. We become aware and be more careful not to participate in spreading hoax news or information to the wider community as it could be subject to sanctions from the ITE Law," he stated.
