City Fully Supports Keselamatan Jaya 2021 Operation

Jakarta Vice Governor, Ahmad Riza Patria (Ariza) represented Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan to attend Regional Police Operation 'Keselamatan Jaya 2021' Assembly at Lapangan Presisi of Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, South Jakarta, on Monday (4/12).

In order to prevent COVID-19 transmission and maintain citizen's safety on the road during Ramadan

This 'Keselamatan Jaya 2021' Operation Assembly involved various elements of society and stakeholders related to the decision to prohibit Eid Homecoming (Mudik) 2021 which issued by central government. This operation is carried out on April 12-25, 2021.

On this occasion, he appreciated this operation and conveyed that Jakarta Government will fully support the operation which carried out to reduce COVID-19 transmission and control the outbreak.

"On behalf of Jakarta Government, we warmly welcome and are grateful for implementation of this operation in order to prevent COVID-19 transmission and maintain citizen's safety on the road during Ramadan. We believe that, together with ranks of TNI, Police, Jakarta Government, we can worship safely and prevent people from conducting Eid homecoming. ASN will get sanction," he asserted, as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

For information, central government has issued regulation to ban Eid homecoming on May 6-17, 2021. It is carried out to control COVID-19 outbreak and reduce transmission rate. Regulation about this prohibition are mentioned in Transportation Minister's Regulation (Permenhub RI) No. 13/2021 on Transportation Control during Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri to Prevent COVID-19 Spread.

Furthermore, he urged Jakarta residents to do activities at home as much as possible and only leave the house for urgent needs while remaining discipline in implementing COVID-19 health protocols, considering COVID-19 pandemic is still worrying. He stated that program initiated by Polda Metro Jaya is very good.

"This morning we hold an assembly. We saw the seriousness of ranks, apparatuses, who supported central government's program, task force, all of us," he said.

On the other hand, Polda Metro Jaya Head, Inspector General Pol. Fadil Imran stated that through Keselamatan Jaya 2021 operation, his side hoped people can still carry out worship in Ramadan month, such as suhoor and tarawih solemnly, be safe on trip, and avoid COVID-19 transmission. In carrying out fasting, his side encourages all elements of society to continue educating and socializing COVID-19 health protocols.

"We will ban non-important activities such as SOTR (suhoor on the road) in groups, crowds, racing, which have no value in worship. In accordance with circular letter of task force and religion minister, it is better to carry out suhoor with nuclear family at home. It is the goal of Keselamatan Jaya operation. In this operation, we will socialize people massively for not conducting Mudik with slogan 'Yok di Jakarta Aje' for this year. We'll postpone it to next year. On May 6-17, public transports are prohibited from operating. Police will carry out operation," he explained.
