Vaccination for Elderly in Kelapa Dua Urban Village Touches 60 Percent

Kelapa Dua Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta intensified COVID-19 vaccination for elderly. The latest data stated that until April 12, 2021, as many as 1,375 elderly residents or around 60 percent of total 2,476 elderly residents have been injected with COVID-19 vaccines.

We hope all elderly residents in this region can get COVID-19 vaccination

Kelapa Dua Urban Village Secretary, Rohma mentioned, her side carried out Gerebek Lansia program by encouraging elderly people to take a part in COVID-19 vaccination in vaccination sites.

"We use door-to-door method by visiting directly elderly houses and encouraging them to be vaccinated. We take them to the nearest vaccination sites to get vaccination," she conveyed, Monday (4/12).

Obstacles faced by her personnel on the field are many elderly who have moved, died, and have comorbidities.

Kelapa Dua Urban Village RW 06 Head, Hasanuddin mentioned, there are 159 elderly residents in the region. But until today, only 15 of them who have received COVID-19 vaccination.

"We support and assist government by providing shuttle service for elderly who want to take COVID-19 vaccination. We hope all elderly residents in this region can get COVID-19 vaccination," he said.
