Residents Ask for Sentiong River JPO Demolition

Tanah Tinggi and Kampung Rawa Urban Village residents, Johar Baru Sub-district, Central Jakarta asked Bina Marga Sub-agency to dismantle Sentiong River Pedestrian Bridge (JPO) that connects those two areas.

JPO often used as an access for young people from both urban villages to brawl

Johar Baru Sub-district Head, Nurhelmi Savitri conveyed, residents asked for demolition because JPO often used as an access for young people from both urban villages to brawl.

"We have followed up residents' aspiration to Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency. However, asset should be deleted before dismantling the bridge," she said, Wednesday (4/14).

Tanjung Barat and Lenteng Agung Flyovers Trial Period is Extended

Brawl often occurs in several locations in Johar Baru, such as on Jalan Kramat Jaya Baru RW 01, Tanah Tinggi RW 10, banks along Sentiong River, and the most famous one is Paris City.

"Brawls often occur in Tanah Tinggi and Kampung Rawa Urban Villages, which disturb residents," he asserted.

Meanwhile, Bina Marga Sub-agency's Bridge and Road Section Head, Yudha Catur Suhartanto explained, JPO which requested by residents for demolition is an asset owned by Jakarta Bina Marga Agency. Therefore, it is necessary to propose asset write-off to Jakarta Regional Asset Management Agency (BPAD).

"We have submitted proposal to BPAD in early March 2021 for asset write-off before demolition is carried out," he stated.
