PPAPP Agency Encourages Business Sectors to Collaborate in Establishing Jakarta APSAI

Jakarta Empowerment, Children Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP) Agency colaborates with Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMDs) and private sector to establish Jakarta Indonesian Children Friend Company Association (APSAI).

BUMD and business sector in Jakarta have agreed to establish Jakarta APSAI through forum which scheduled on April 30, 2021

Jakarta PPAPP Agency Head, Tuty Kusumawati said, PPAPP involvement in business sector is expected to accelerate the program to make Jakarta as Children-Friendly Province.

The involvement in business sector becomes one of PPAPP's strategic steps to achieve the predicate of Children-Friendly City/Regency.

"There are four main pillars in realizing Children-Friendly City/Regency, namely the involvement of regional apparatuses, mass media, business sector, and participation of social institutions," she conveyed, Thursday (4/15).

According to her, PPAPP Agency tries to realize Jakarta APSAI to motivate owners, employees and families within company environment and surrounding communities to care about children's needs.

"We propose Jakarta APSAI administrators to consist of BUMDs and national private companies which domiciled or operate in Jakarta," she added.

Currently, BUMDs that have been invited to join Jakarta APSAI are PT. LRT Jakarta, PT. MRT Jakarta, PT. Transjakarta, PT. Bank DKI, PT. Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, and PT. Jakarta Propertindo.

"In the last five years, those BUMDs have been actively involved in providing support in implementing programs, namely Glorification of Women, Protection for Children and Disabled People in Jakarta Province," he stated.

She mentioned one of BUMD's contribution in transportation sector is to establish Women and Children-Friendly Post (SAPA) in LRT/MRT stations and Transjakarta bus shelters.

"BUMD and business sector in Jakarta have agreed to establish Jakarta APSAI through forum which scheduled on April 30, 2021," she closed.
