300 Volunteers Get Disaster Preparedness Training

As much as 300 volunteers of Social Taskforces (Satgasos) and Disaster Response Teams (Tagana) in North Jakarta are getting disaster preparedness training. Training is done in order to anticipate flooding and puddle in 12 urban villages in rainy season.
"We predict flooding is not much different with last year. At least, the peak of refugee would reach 12,000 people," expressed Head of North Jakarta Social Sub-Department, Ika Lestari Adji, Friday (11/14).
Basuki Optimistic Flood will Recede QuicklyThose 12 urban villages are Penjaringan, Kapuk Muara (Penjaringan Sub-District), Pademangan Barat, Ancol (Pademangan Sub-District), Cilincing, Kalibaru (Cilincing Sub-District), Sunter Jaya (Tanjung Priok Sub-District), Pegangsaan Dua (Kelapa Gading Sub-District), Tugu Selatan (Koja Sub-District), Sukapura, Rorotan and Marunda (Cilincing Sub-District).
In addition to prepare officers in the field, her sub-department has also provided logistic to flood victims. The prepared foods include rice, cooking oil, instant noodles, and sardines.
Her party is currently inventorying other needs, such as tents, blankets and mattresses as supporting facility in the refugee camps. As for the public kitchen, 18 locations have been prepared as a logistics center for refugees.
"12 public kitchens are placed in such urban villages and 6 others in sub-district," he told.
