Five Tons of Fresh Fish Distributed to North Jakarta

The North Jakarta administration has received five tons or 2,500 packages of fresh fish from Fish Quarantine Center, Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products, Jakarta II, Ministry of Maritime and Fisheries (KKP). It was symbolically done at the North Jakarta Mayor Office.

The assistance provided is in the form of fresh mackerel fish

"The assistance provided is in the form of fresh mackerel fish. Each package measures two kilograms of fish," expressed North Jakarta Secretariate for Economic Division Head, Dewi Sartika, Monday (5/3).

She said the assistance would be distributed to target beneficiaries, such as PJLP in each sub-district and PPSU in each urban village. It was also provided to 494 elderlies spread across six sub-districts and 250 Pamdal officers from the North Jakarta Mayor's Office.

"It will also be given to residents suffering from malnutrition (stunting) in Kalibaru, Marunda, Semper Timur, Sukapura, Papanggo, Sunter Agung, Sunter Jaya, Warakas, Ancol, and Pademangan Barat urban villages," he expressed.

Meanwhile, the functional staff of the Center for Fish Quarantine, Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products in Jakarta II, Riyanto explained that the provision of fresh fish packages is part of the 2021 Quarantine Quality Month (BMK) program, which was inaugurated by the KKP Minister, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono on April 14 at Koja Container Terminal, Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta.

"This assistance was donated by our stakeholders, export-import entrepreneurs, especially in North Jakarta, Cikarang and Bekasi areas. They generally have a fish processing factory. They donated some to be distributed to North Jakarta and its surrounding areas," he stated.

He added the Bulan Mutu Karantina program was an annual program from the Ministry of Maritime and Fisheries, in this case the Fish Quarantine Center, Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products, Jakarta II. Besides holding fresh fish package distribution, other activities were also done, such as a coaching clinic and stocking fish seeds, especially local fish.

"This is a form of our gratitude from the ministry. In this program, we want to really dedicate the role of the Fish Quarantine Center to benefit the surrounding community," he stated
