252 Illegal Parking Attendants Netted in North Jakarta

Raid against people with social welfare issues (PMKS) keeps being intensified in the capital city, especially in North Jakarta. It is recorded that until November 2014, local social sub-department has netted 961 PMKS who 252 of them were illegal parking attendants. Their number increases 100 percent from previous year, or 122 people.

Meanwhile, Head of North Jakarta Social Sub-Department Social Rehabilitation Service Section, Israk, assessed that illegal parking attendants are rampant because nowadays there are many road repair and construction projects which cause traffic congestion and they use the moment.

Based on North Jakarta Social Sub-Department data, the 961 PMKS netted are dominated by illegal parking attendants, followed by 198 bums, 114 psychotics, and 112 beggars.
“We will give guidance. For parking attendants who are underage, we will give understanding to their parents not to let their children roaming on the streets,” he said.
