Jakarta's Latest Official COVID-19 Figures as of May 21

The Jakarta COVID-19 Quick Handling Task Force announces the latest information of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases as of May 21.

The number of people tested last week has reached 37,073

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head Dwi Oktavia Tatri Lestari stated, based on the latest data, the swab tests had been carried out on 10,473 specimens. 8,168 of them were to diagnose new cases with 856 positive and 7,312 negative results. In addition, an antigen test was also held today, where 7,614 were tested, with 83 positive results and 7,531  negative results.

"The number of people tested last week has reached 37,073, while 364,552 people have undergone the swab tests. As for the number of active cases in Jakarta, date is 9,108 people who are undergoing self-isolation at home (including data of athlete's homestead) or increased to 637 cases," she expressed, as quoted by Jakarta's PPID press release, Friday (5/21).

Latest Information on COVID-19 Cases and Vaccination in Jakarta as of May 20, 2021

As for the total number of confirmation cases in Jakarta to date was 422,210 cases. Of these cases, 405,918 people were cured with a cure rate reaching 96.1% and 7,184 people died with a world with a death rate of 1.7%, while Indonesia's death rate was 2.8%. The positivity rate in the last week in Jakarta was 9.1%, while Indonesia was 10.9%. WHO also set a standard percentage of positive cases of no more than 5%.

Meanwhile, the vaccination process was still ongoing. The number of vaccination targets for stages 1 and 2 (health workers, the elderly, and public servants) was 3,000,689 people. The total vaccination dose 1 was currently 2,275,325  people (75.8%) and the total vaccination dose 2 now reached 1,599,233 people (53.3%).

With the detailed, vaccination dose 1 for health workers reached 129,893 people (115.7) and vaccination dose 2 included 115,301 people (102.7%), with a vaccination target of 112,301 people.

As for the elderly, vaccination dose 1 was done to 587,816 people (64.5%) and vaccination dose 2 included 517,660 people (56.8%), with a vaccination target of 911,631 people. In the public service, vaccination dose 1 was administered to 1,557,616 people (78.8%) and vaccination dose 2 included 966,272 people (48.9%), with a vaccination target of 1,976,757 people.

Based on the daily reports on May 20 at 6 PM, there had been a total fine of Rp 27,750,000. So, it was hoped that the public could be more disciplined in implementing health protocols and participating in curbing the COVID-19.

Amid PPKM Mikro, residents wanting to enter the Jakarta area were urged to carry out independent COVID-19 check-up through the JakCLM via JAKI app. In this app, they could find out the risk of COVID-19 and got various health recommendations according to the risks they have. This contribution would help the government to prevent the diseases in Jakarta.
