Jakarta's Latest Official COVID-19 Figures as of May 23

The Jakarta COVID-19 Quick Handling Task Force announces the latest information of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases as of May 23.

The number of people tested last week has reached 52,247

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head Dwi Oktavia Tatri Lestari stated, based on the latest data, the swab tests had been carried out on 11,559 specimens. 8,669 of them were to diagnose new cases with 867 positive and 7,802 negative results. In addition, an antigen test was also held today, where 10,340 were tested, with 136 positive results and 10,204 negative results.

"The number of people tested last week has reached 52,247, while 366,692 people have undergone the swab tests. As for the number of active cases in Jakarta, date is 10,133 people who are undergoing self-isolation at home (including data of athlete's homestead) or increased to 487 cases," she expressed, as quoted by Jakarta's PPID press release, Sunday (5/23).

As for the total number of confirmation cases in Jakarta to date was 424,009 cases. Of these cases, 406,669 people were cured with a cure rate reaching 95.9% and 7,207 people died with a world with a death rate of 1.7%, while Indonesia's death rate was 2.8%. The positivity rate in the last week in Jakarta was 9.2%, while Indonesia was 10.9%. WHO also set a standard percentage of positive cases of no more than 5%.

Meanwhile, the vaccination process was still ongoing. The number of vaccination targets for stages 1 and 2 (health workers, the elderly, and public servants) was 3,000,689 people. The total vaccination dose 1 was currently 2,316,046 people (77.2%) and the total vaccination dose 2 now reached 1,644,686 people (54.8%).

With the detailed, vaccination dose 1 for health workers reached 130,055 people (115.8) and vaccination dose 2 included 115,679 people (103%), with a vaccination target of 112,301 people.

As for the elderly, vaccination dose 1 was done to 588,873 people (64.6%) and vaccination dose 2 included 521,910 people (57.3%), with a vaccination target of 911,631 people.
