Kramatjati Puskesmas Project Consultant Arrested

East Jakarta State Attorney Office arrested TR (50), president director of PT BN as the supervisor consultant of Kramatjati Community Health Center (puskesmas) development project. TR is suspected involved in a corruption act of the puskesmas’ inpatient and maternity wards construction, that caused the country loses Rp 1.5 billion.

“The supervisor consultant did not do his job correctly. TR directly approved the project, so the country loses Rp 1.5 billion,” stated Head of East Jakarta State Attorney Office Special Crime Section, Silvi Desty Rosalyna, Monday (11/17).

For information, the project was carried out in 2010 worth Rp 4.6 billion and in 2012 with budget Rp 3.6 billion. From the total of those budgets, the country is predicted suffer loss about Rp 1.5 billion because the supervisor consultant reported the project had finished 100 percent, while it was actually only 60 percent completed. Moreover, the work done was also not in accordance to the specification.

For his misconduct, TR is charged under Article 2 verse 1 and Article 3 of Law No. 31/1999 on Corruption Act. The sanction is 20 years in prison and fine as much as Rp 1 billion.

To develop the case, East Jakarta State Attorney Office is questioning some witnesses, including officials from East Jakarta Health Sub-Department, Kramatjati Sub-District Community Health Center, and East Jakarta Public Housing and Government’s Buildings Sub-Department.
