Putri Indonesia Lingkungan 2020 Plants Mangrove in Cikaya Beach

Putri Indonesia Lingkungan 2020, Putu Ayu Saraswati visited Cikaya Beach, Karya Island, Panggang Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands Sub-district to plant mangroves and release hawksbill turtle hatchlings.

Cikaya Beach is a combination, not only as tourist attraction, but also as a place for education and environmental conservation

This activity was done to celebrate National Nature Conservation Day (HKAN) 2021 and to welcome World Environment Day on June 5.

"Cikaya Beach is a combination, not only as tourist attraction, but also as a place for education and environmental conservation which, if preserved, will give positive impacts on the environment. I feel happy to have the opportunity to visit it," she conveyed, Saturday (5/29).

Panggang Island Urban Village Acting Head, Iskandar appreciated Putri Indonesia Lingkungan 2020 for her action to take care the environment.

"Thank you for visiting here, hopefully it can be motivation and promotion for tourism in Thousand Islands, especially in Cikaya Beach," he said.

Meanwhile, Thousand Islands National Park's Pramuka Island Region III National Park Management Section (SPTN) Head. Kusminardi mentioned, in this activity, 30 hatchlings and 1 adult hawksbill were released since those are the protected endangered species and mascot of Thousand Islands.

"In this activity, we also plant 50 mangrove seedlings and transplant seagrass at Cikaya Beach," he closed.
