North Jakarta Opens E-KTP Recording Service for Residents Aged 16 Years and 6 Months

North Jakarta Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) Sub-agency opens electronic identity card (e-KTP) recording service only for residents aged 16 years and 6 months.

First, we will open the service in a month

North Jakarta Dukcapil Sub-agency Head, Edward Idris mentioned, this special service is open every Saturday. For the initial stage, service is open from May 26 to June 26.

"First, we will open the service in a month. If there are many residents who have not been recorded, we will resume the service. They have online learning on Monday-Friday, thus we open the service on Saturdays in all urban villages in North Jakarta," he explained, Saturday (5/29).

He explained, the service is open from 08:00 to 12:00 in urban village offices. His side has also informed RT/RW administrators in each sub-district about this service.

For e-KTP recording service, applicants data will be recorded, including their personal data, iris, and fingerprints. Then, their e-KTP card will be printed when they are 17 years old.

"We only record their data to the system. Thus officer can immediately print their e-KTP cards when they turn 17 years old," he stated.

He ensured e-KTP recording service is carried out by implementing strict health protocol.

"All personnel have been vaccinated, they are required to always wear mask during the recording, maintain safe distance, and often wash their hands. We also sterilize recording equipment after each applicants use it,"

His side urged residents who are aged 16 years and 6 months or more to immediately record their data in their respective urban village offices.

"So that they can record data for e-KTP immediately because e-KTP is important as self-identity card. Data recorded on e-KTP are very important, for example related to register BPJS, voting rights, and their rights to access public services," he informed.

Residents who want to record data for e-KTP should bring population documents, such as photocopies of birth certificate and family card (KK). Residents can also apply for e-KTP recording service through Android and iOS based application, namely Alpukat Betawi which managed by Jakarta Dukcapil Agency.
