East Jakarta Bina Marga Repairs Cilangkap RIver Bridge

Six personnel were deployed from East Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency Unit to repair Cilangkap River Bridge on Jl. Wira Kencana XI, RW 02 Cilangkap, Cipayung, which was damaged by high water discharge during heavy rain.

It is targeted to be completed in the next 20 days

East Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency Bridge and Road Maintenance Section Head, Ilham Raya stated, this repair work was carried out to follow up resident's request through Musrenbang.

With length 5.5 meters and width 3.5 meters, this bridge has holes that are potential to make it collapse. It is feared that if it is not repaired immediately, its condition will get worse and could endanger people who pass by.

"We have started the repair from two weeks ago and it is targeted to be completed in the next 20 days," he mentioned, Friday (6/4).

According to him, this bridge will be elevated as high as 50 centimeters and casted with concrete as high as 20 centimeters to make it stronger. Installation for its foundation has been completed.

"Currently, our personnel are installing iron frame on the bridge," he added.

RW 02 Cilangkap Treasurer, Suwiji appreciated East Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency in responding residents' complaints. This bridge, he assessed, is very important because it is the main access which connects RW 02 and 03.

"This bridge is the main access for residents to Jl. As-Syafi'iyah. If it is damaged and not repaired, residents must go through Jl. Giri Kencana and Jl. Pet to go to Jl. As-Syafi'iyah," he conveyed.
