Residents Flock to Cheap Market in Tugu Selatan

Dozens of enthusiastic residents stormed the cheap market, which was held in the courtyard of the Tugu Selatan Sub-district office, Koja, North Jakarta, on Friday (6/4) afternoon.

The cheap market held by PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya provided various basic needs such as rice, cooking oil, wheat flour, and garlic with good quality and affordable prices.

PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya Officer, Prayitno said, for North Jakarta area, the market had been held in Semper Timur and Barat, Cilincing and Tugu Selatan urban villages.

"Alhamdulillah the enthusiasm of the citizens is also quite high," he expressed, at the location.

He went on to say that the price of basic necessities offered in this cheap market was cheaper than the market prices. It was held to meet the availability of food for the community and maintain the availability, smooth distribution and stability of food prices in Jakarta.

"The price of food products sold is much cheaper than the market price, for instance the 1,800-milliliter FS Super Cooking Oil is sold at Rp 29,000 on the market, we only sell it for Rp 26,000," he explained.

It also received a positive response from the Tugu Selatan Urban Village Head, Sukarmin. He assessed, it helped residents in Tugu Selatan in meeting the availability of food at affordable prices.

"Alhamdulillah the enthusiasm of the residents is quite high. We thank Food Station as the price is cheaper when compared to the market or stalls. We hope that this activity can be routine and continue to be held every month or even every week in the urban village," he expressed.

Siti Rohaya (32), a resident of RT 05/03 Tugu Selatan Urban Village admitted that she was very happy by holding a cheap market.

"Basic needs sold here are cheaper. If possible, activities like this are routinely held once a month or once a week," she hoped.

1. 5-kg medium rice = Rp 45,000/sack

2. 2.4-kg FSN Long Grain Green = Rp 28,000/sack

3. 1-kg FS Premium Granulated Sugar - White = Rp 12,300/pcs

4. 20-kg Honan Garlic RIPH 2020 = Rp 13,000/pcs

5. 1,800-ml FS Super Cooking Oil = Rp 26,000/pcs

6. 900-ml FS Super Cooking Oil = Rp 13,500/pcs

7. 1-kg FS Wheat Flour = Rp 7,000/pcs
