Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ T Purnama will revoke the operational permit of public transport drivers who raise tariff unilaterally. “If (public transport drivers) raised tariff unilaterally before there is official announcement, we will revoke their operational permit,” he stated, Tuesday (11/18).
According to Ahok, at this time the city administration is discussing the new official public transport tariff together with Jakarta Land Transportation Organization (Organda) and related units. After the new tariff is set, it will be announced to the public. Thus, public transport drivers could impose the new tariff and not violate the rules.

And in the future, Jakarta Provincial Government will encourage public transport entrepreneurs to use gas fuel (BBG).
“We encourage them to shift using gas. So, later they would pay sum amount of money per kilometer. This applies in all over Jakarta,” he asserted.
As reported earlier, Jakarta Organda plans to re-calculate tariff hike on regular public transports, such as bus, mikrolet, and taxi. The increase proposed is between Rp 1,000 to Rp 1,500. According to the plan, the proposal will be submitted to the governor this weekend at the latest.
