Afterwards, they will submit the tariff hike proposal to Jakarta Provincial Government to get approval from the governor.

The tariff hike suggested for public transports under the authority of Organda DPD is around Rp 1,000 to Rp 1,500

“Today, we recalculate public transportation tariff. This week, we’ll try for the tariff hike proposal to reach the governor’s desk,” stated Head of Jakarta Organda DPD, Safruan Sinungan, Tuesday (11/18).

According to Sinungan, tariff recalculation will be aplied for regular public transports, such as city bus, mikrolet, and taxi. As for tariff hike for non-economy public transports like inter city tourism bus, TransJakarta, and APTB, it will be done by Jakarta Provincial Government.

Chili and Onion Price Hiking

“The tariff hike suggested for public transports under the authority of Organda DPD is around Rp 1,000 to Rp 1,500,” he disclosed.

In addition, Sinungan admitted that his party cannot do much related to public transport drivers and operators action that increase tariff unilaterally. The reason is because Jakarta Organda DPD only acts as public transportation regulator, thus they cannot take any action.

“We can only urge public transport drivers and operators not to raise the tariff first. But if they had done it, we can only reprimand them, because we understand that drivers are also making adjustment to their living needs,” he uttered.
