Kelapa Gading Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Unit widened water channel on Jl. Griya Pratama Raya RW 20, Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village, Kelapa Gading Sub-district, North Jakarta.
Until today, its progress has reached about 40 percent
Kelapa Gading SDA Unit Head, Citrin Indriati mentioned, channel widening work has been carried out starting June 3, 2021 and is targeted to be completed on June 20, 2021.
"Until today, its progress has reached about 40 percent," she conveyed, Wednesday (6/9).
Channel on Jalan Poncol I is DredgedThis channel with length 22 meters is widened from 50 centimeters into 130 centimeters. Her side deployed 9 personnel for widening the channel.
"Its construction uses masonry, while for excavation it uses one heavy wheel equipment to speed up excavation and demolition work," she added.
The channel was widened to increase channel's capacity thus it can hold more water when heavy rain falls and to prevent channel from overflowing Jl. Griya Pratama Raya RW 20, Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village.
According to her, the area is prone to inundation, especially during heavy rain because it has small dimension that makes it is not optimal to hold water discharge.
"Channel is widened as our effort to overcome flood in the area. Previously we have drained several channels in RW 20, Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village and made trench on Jalan Arteri Kelapa Gading to Jalan Taman Griya Pratama," she mentioned.
