East Jakarta Satpol PP to Closely Monitor Health Protocols, as Cases Spike

This is intensified as a deterrent effect

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is once again announcing the implementation of a tight health protocol in Jakarta as cases of Covid-19 continue to soar in the capital city, especially in East Jakarta.

East Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Budi Novian disclosed the mask operation would be tighten in all areas and would increase the value of administrative fines and social workload.

He explained the administrative fine would be increased from Rp 100,000 to Rp 150,000 per person. If violators refused it, they would undergo social sanctions by sweeping the streets while wearing orange vests for an hour.

"This is intensified as a deterrent effect," he said, Thursday (6/17).

Aside that, similar action would also be spotted in neighborhoods that show a spike in cases. It was aimed at anticipating micro lockdown.

Every day, as many as 330 personnel were deployed to 10 sub-districts. 3 teams or 30 personnel of them were alerted in each district.

"Similar action is also done at the city level," he said.
