Facilitating COVID-19 Patients, UPAS Operates School Buses for 24 Hours

Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub)'s School Transportation Unit (UPAS) increased school bus services to 24 hours to transport residents who are positive for COVID-19 to hospitals and Wisma Atlet.

As of 15:30, we have evacuated 531 COVID-19 patients to Wisma Atlet Kemayoran

Jakarta Dishub's UPAS Head, Ali Murthadho mentioned, as of Thursday (6/17) 15:30, his side had evacuated 531 COVID-19 patients using 31 school buses to Wisma Atlet Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

According to him, number of residents who will be transported to Wisma Atlet and hospitals will continue to increase until tonight, because there are still many requests for evacuation that haven't been completed.

School Buses Transport 16 Travelers to Integrated Isolation Sites

"As of 15:30, we have evacuated 531 COVID-19 patients to Wisma Atlet Kemayoran. We have prepared 42 buses that operate for 24 hours. However, currently only 31 buses that have been operated and there may be more," he said.

His side operated 31 buses to pick up COVID-19 patients in 29 locations across 5 regions of Jakarta. There were 68 patients transported from Kramat Jati Sub-district Health Center, 54 patients from Ciracas Sub-district Health Center, 22 patients from Lubang Buaya Urban Village Health Center, and 16 patients from Makasar Sub-district Health Center.
