City Park and Forestry Agency Provides 7,600 New Burial Plots

Jakarta City Park and Forestry Agency has prepared 7,600 new burial plots for bodies exposed to COVID-19 in two Public Cemeteries (TPUs). In detail, 7,200 new burial plots in TPU Rorotan, North Jakarta and 400 new burial plots in TPU Tegal Alur, West Jakarta.

Jakarta City Park and Forestry Agency's Data and Information Center (Pusdatin) Head, Ivan Murcahyo stated, new burial plots were prepared to anticipate increase in death cases due to COVID-19.

"As of June 17, 2021 at 18:00, as many as 680 of 7,600 new burial plots have been used. The land covers an area of 3 hectares," he explained, Friday (6/18).

City Adds New Burial Ground at Rorotan Public Cemetery

According to him, new burial plots provided at TPU Rorotan are for Muslim, while TPU Tegal Alur for non-Muslim.

"During burial process, grave digger personnel use complete personal protective equipment (PPE)," he mentioned.
