Former Jakarta Secretary, Muhayat has Passed Away

On Jakarta's 494th Anniversary, Tuesday (6/22), sad news came from Jakarta Government officials. Former Jakarta Regional Secretary, Muhayat, has passed away at RSUD Tarakan, Central Jakarta, at 09:45.

The deceased, who had served as Central Jakarta Mayor and Jakarta Regional Secretary during Governor Fauzi Bowo's reign, died at age 70. From RSUD Tarakan, the body was immediately taken to funeral home at Jalan Kalibata Tengah 16 No. 10, Pancoran, South Jakarta around 11:30. The deceased will be buried at Karet Bivak Public Cemetery, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta this noon.

The former head of Jakarta Public Relation and Protocol Bureau as well as founder of beritajakarta.id was born in Kalibata, Pancoran, South Jakarta on April 27, 1951. The deceased pursued carrier in Jakarta Government from the bottom until retiring as Jakarta Regional Secretary in 2011.

Number of condolence wreaths from various parties were lined up on the road to the funeral home. Among them were from Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan; Jakarta Regional Secretary, Marullah Matali; East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar; former Jakarta Governor, Sutiyoso; Indonesian Cooperative Council Head, Mayjen TNI Nachrowi Ramli and others.

Several Jakarta Government officials were also present at the funeral home, including General Bureau Head, who is also Jakarta Dukcapil Acting Head (Plt), Budi Awaludin; South Jakarta Acting Mayor (Plt), Isnawa Adji, and other officials. Everyone seemed to adhere to health protocol by wearing mask and keeping their distance from each other.
