660 Kiosks in Senen Market Temporary Shelter to Be Raffled

PD Pasar Jaya is going to raffle 660 kiosks for temporary shelter in Blok III, Senen Market, Central Jakarta, in a bid to prevent jealousy and conflict among traders. The raffling will be held at the end of this month.

There are 660 kiosks. We’ll raffle the keys at the end of this month to avoid conflict among traders

“The temporary shelter is predicted complete in upcoming November 25. There are 660 kiosks. We’ll raffle the keys at the end of this month to avoid conflict among traders,” stated Big Market Unit Manager for Senen Market Blok III and IV, Royani, Wednesday (11/19).

According to Royani, those kiosks will be prioritized for clothing, electronic, glasses, groceries traders as well as tailors and screen printing entrepreneurs. They are predicted would start to occupy the kiosks effective on the second week of upcoming December.

Used Clothing Vendors Back to Occupy Pasar Senen Sidewalks

“At this time, other market facilities like lamps and toilets are being prepared by the contractor. If the traders had occupied the shelter, we hope there would be no more traders selling on sidewalks,” she said.

While to prevent traffic congestion that might happen after the shelter is completed, Royani urges the traders not to bring their cars because the kiosks are located right on the side of main road and there is not enough parking space.

“The parking lot is very limited. For motorcycles, it’s okay. But if cars parked there, it could create traffic congestion,” she told.
