Manholes at RW 02 Untung Jawa Island Urban Village are Being Cleaned

Thousand Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency cleaned manholes at RT 01, 02, and 03 of RW 02, Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands Sub-district.

If it is not frequently cleaned, it can cause blockage

Thousand Islands SDA Sub-agency Head, Hendri mentioned, those manholes connected with household drain pipes before it is connected to the main pipes.

"If it is not frequently cleaned, it can cause blockage and disrupt water flow that can trigger inundation," he added, T hursday (6/24).

His side deployed 6 personnel from each RTs to clean manholes from mud sedimentation and garbage.

"Cleaning work is still ongoing and currently personnel have collected 5 sacks of mud and garbage from the manholes. After it is cleaned, we hope it can minimize inundation in the area," he stated.
