2015, Main Road Towards Fatahillah Park Closed

To support Kota Tua revitalization, Jakarta Provincial Government plans to close Jalan Kemukus which located in this historical tourism area. Starting next year, the main road towards Fatahillah Park and Beos Station must be sterile from motor vehicles.

We’re currently repairing roads that will be used as alternative routes around Kota Tua area

Head of Roads Construction Division for Jakarta Public Works Department, Heru Panatas, stated that Jalan Kemukus must be sterile from motor vehicles. Later, the traffic will be diverted to other roads.

“We’re currently repairing roads that will be used as alternative routes around Kota Tua area,” he said, Friday (11/21).

Free Wi-Fi in Kota Tua will Be Added

According to Panatas, the roads being repaired at this time are Jalan Kunir, Jalan Kencur, Jalan Lada Dalam, and Jalan Kemukus. The repair work has completed around 25 percent, and is targeted to finish end of this year. The fund disbursed for this project reaches Rp 30 billion.

“Later, there will be alternative routes that will be used to divert the traffic. They are Jalan Kunir until the edge of Besar River or Jalan Lada Dalam that goes straight into the road between BNI Bank and Kota Beso Station,” he explained.

In addition, Jakarta Public Works Department will also build that would connect Kota Tua in West Jakarta with Mangga Dua in North Jakarta.

“Jalan Kali Ciliwung Anak which used as alternative lane would also be reinforced with concrete,” he told.
