Five Palmeriam PPSU personnel, Matraman, East Jakarta started to produce coffins since Thursday (7/8).
It is done to help meet the needs of coffins in the midst of high COVID-19 cases
Matraman Sub-district Head, Andriansyah conveyed, coffin was made using 15 mm thick plywood with assistance from PT. Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (PDSI), Bank Mandiri, PT. APEI, and Saint Joseph Church Matraman.
"We empower Palmeriam PPSU personnel to produce coffins. It is done to help meet the needs of coffins in the midst of high COVID-19 cases. Material assistance is provided from CSR," he explained, Friday (7/9).

Manufacturing process is carried out in stages and targeted to finish next week. Currently his side is also coordinating with other parties to get additional raw material supplies to make coffins.
"After it is completed, all coffins will be stored at sub-district offices. Because health centers has limited area," he added.
He hopes coffins production can support funeral services for residents who died due to COVID-19.
