Cililitan Residents Clean Up the Mud After Flood

The two-meter high flood that hit Cililitan Urban Village, Kramatjati Sub-District, East Jakarta, on Thursday (11/20) left trash piles and mud sump in the area.

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, the residents at Gang Rawa Sepat, RT 11/06 Cililitan, are busy cleaning up mud their settlement from trash and mud.

“There are only trash and mud now. The mud is about 20-centimeter thick,” said Bunda (62), a local, Friday (11/21).

Jalan Jatinegara Barat still Closed

To help the residents, local Cleanliness Sub-Department sends janitors as well as cleaning equipment. To get the equipment, the residents only need to coordinate with urban village and sub-district apparatuses.

“Janitors, cleaning equipment, dump carts, and even dump truck have been provided by us. RT/RW officials just need to contact urban village and sub-district apparatuses,” stated Head of East Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department, Apul Silalahi.
