According to him, this assistance is especially for residents exposed to COVID-19 from poor families, slum areas, and residents who haven't received medicine from hospitals.
"After distributing it, we will conduct evaluation. Because every day, data of exposed residents is always updated. We want to make sure those who are sick to obtain free medicines," he asserted.
Cipayung Sub-district Head, Fajar Eko Satrio mentioned, 531 residents who were registered to receive assistance were spread across Cilangkap, Ceger, Bambu Apus, and Luban Buaya Urban Villages with total 700 medicine packages.
"There are 700 medicine packages in total. The rest will be deposited at health center thus later it can be given to other underprivileged residents who haven't been recorded. Because data of residents who undergo self-isolation changes every day," he explained.
Cipayung Sub-district Health Center (Puskesmas) Head, Rini Muharni said, there are types of medicines given to residents, such as oseltamivir, parasetamol, zinc, vitamin C, and vitamin D, as well as cough medicine.
Medical team is involved in distributing medicines because there are socialization and education about health protocol and how to take the medicines.
"Not only educating and explaining how to take the medicines, we will also monitor their progress," she added.
Those free medicine packages, she continued, are specifically given for residents aged 18 years and over who experience mild symptoms, fever and cough.
"Officers who distribute medicines to COVID-19 patients should wear level two PPE, from hazmat, mask, gloves, and face shield. Hopefully they can finish distributing medicines today," she conveyed.
On the other hand, RW 01 Ceger Urban Village Head, Yanto Sudarto thanked government for assistance in form of medicines for residents who are undergoing self-isolation at home. He hopes this assistance can speed up their healing process and reduce number of COVID-19 cases in Jakarta.
"We have received the assistance, hopefully it will be useful for our residents who need it and more residents are recovering from COVID-19," he closed.
