DKI Akan Bangun Puskesmas di Kebon Melati

New Puskesmas to Be Built Next Year in Kebon Melati

Jakarta Provincial Government plans to build a community health center (puskesmas) in Kebon Melati Urban Village, Tanah Abang Sub-District, Central Jakarta, next year. The construction of the puskesmas that would stand on a 600-meter-wide land at RW 12 is predicted to spend Rp 4 billion.

New puskesmas is needed to serve the citizens who need healthcare services quickly

Head of Tanah Abang Sub-District, Hidayatullah, stressed that the need for puskesmas in his area is very urgent due to the high number of patients seeking treatment, especially patients who use the Social Security Management Agency (BPJS) cards.

“Moreover, Tanah Abang Sub-District Puskesmas would soon be transformed into type D hospital. Thus, new puskesmas is needed to serve the citizens who need healthcare services quickly,” he stated, Monday (11/24).

Kramatjati Puskesmas Project Consultant Arrested

Actually, Hidayatullah continued, the residents had requested for puskesmas construction in Kebon Melati Urban Village since 2010. However, the plan had to be postponed because some locals at RW 12 rejected it.

The rejection was because the office of RW 12 stood on the land where the puskesmas to be built, and the land was also utilized by residents as a futsal court and illegal parking space. From these businesses, some parties predictably reap benefits up to tens of millions rupiah per month.

“So when the puskesmas was going to be built, some parties did all kinds of ways to maintain their illegal businesses,” he disclosed.

According to Hidayatullah, his party will continue to socialize about this plan and offer solution to the residents who refused. And in the nearest future, the business on that land will be controlled.

“RW office remains maintained, but the futsal court will be relocated to an empty land at RW 17. If the locals protested, they will face to face with the authorities due to the land is owned by Jakarta Provincial Government,” he asserted.

Meanwhile, Head of Tanah Abang Sub-District Puskesmas, Nailah, admitted that new puskesmas is indeed very much needed in this area. Moreover, the number of patients keeps increasing day by day.

“At this time, we receive 300-400 patients in a day. Most of them are BPJS users,” she told.
