Sidewalks on Jl. Kemang Utara Repaired

South Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency repaired damaged sidewalks on Jalan Kemang Utara, Bangka Urban Village, Mampang Prapatan.

Repair is carried out because there are many damaged concrete blocks on the sidewalks

South Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency Head, Heru Suwondo mentioned, his side repaired sidewalks on the right and left sides of the road with width about one meter on each sides and length 100 meters.

"Repair is carried out because there are many damaged concrete blocks on the sidewalks," he said, Monday (8/2).

According to him, most concrete blocks on the sidewalks were damaged due to freight cars that were often parked on the sidewalk. Therefore, his side not only repaired it but also elevated the sidewalk by 20 centimeters.

"We deploy 7 personnel from Mampang Prapatan Sub-district Unit to repair and elevate the sidewalk by 20 centimeters," he explained.

This repair work has been carried out since early July and the current progress has reached more than 50 percent. His side estimated it to be completed by mid-August.

"Sidewalks on the left side of the road has been completed. We estimate all work to be completed by mid-August," he conveyed.

After repair is completed, his side expected Jalan Kemang Utara will be more tidy and pedestrian can feel comfortable and safe when using the sidewalks.

"We hope no more vehicles park on the sidewalk," he closed.
