Satpol PP to Intensify Inspection at Malls

Jakarta Satpol PP is about to conduct a routine inspection in malls in a bid to ensure the implementation of health protocols according to the rules, one of which is related to visitors who must have been vaccinated at least the first dose.

It is done to maximize all rules during PPKM Level 4

According to Arifin, Head of Jakarta Satpol PP, personnel would check every visitor for vaccination status before entering the mall, either with a vaccine card or through a scanning process via PeduliLindungi or JAKI applications.

"It is done to maximize all rules during PPKM Level 4. Every mall visitor is required to scan the barcode via PeduliLindungi application before entering the mall. We provide the devices at the entrance," he expressed, Friday (8/13).

He explained, the same rule would also apply to business actors or tenant employees in malls.

"They (malls) have been given the opportunity to operate, so they must obey the rules that have been set as an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19," he explained.

Aside that, there were several mandatory mall operational rules that should be applied, such as only people aged 12-70 years old who could enter the mall, 25 percent capacity and operating hours from 10 AM to 8 PM under strict health protocols. As for restaurants or cafes inside malls should not provide dine-in services.

"If they ignored it, we'll take strict action. So, please your awareness of it," he asserted.

He went on to say that the imposition of sanctions would be given to violators referring to Bylaw number 2/2020 on Covid-19 Handling and Gubernatorial Regulation number 3/2021 on the Implementation of the Bylaw number 2/2020 on Covid-19 Handling.

"If we find a violation, we will issue a warning until temporary closure," he stressed.
