3,000 Police Officers Deployed in Zebra Operation

We involve 3,000 personnel to smoothen the Zebra operation this year

The City Police sent 3,000 personnel of Traffic Unit and resort police to launch the Zebra operation. The operation will be active on November 26-December 9, 2014.  

"We involve 3,000 personnel to smoothen the Zebra operation this year," said Chief of Guidance and Law Enforcement Sub-Directorate, City Police, Adj. Sr. Cmr. Hindarsono, Wednesday (11/26).

The operation is focused on six traffic violation-prone areas. They are Lenteng Agung, Mampang, Kampung Melayu, Joglo, Dukuh Atas, and Slipi. "We'll crack down them (offenders)," he asserted.

Adj. Sr. Cmr. Hindarsono stated hundreds of traffic ticket have been prepared to the motorists who violate traffic rules. It is in accordance with the data that has been analyzed by the police. "On regular day, thousands of traffic tickets can be produced in a day, therefore we prepare 100 thousand. If it is less, we will produce again," he explained.

Such operation that will take place two days is the first step toward the Lilin operation ahead of Christmas. "We're targeting motorists who do contra-flow, drive at a high speed, not wear helmet, do not stop behind the stop line, etc," he revealed.

Besides private vehicles, the raid also applies to public transports which pick up and drop off passengers haphazardly. 

"In addition to obey the traffic rules, the motorist must also complete the vehicle documents. If they are aware of the traffic order, Jakarta will not be chaotic," he finished.
