Thousand Islands SDA Builds 108 Infiltration Wells

Thousand Islands Water Resources (SDA) had built 108 infiltration wells in 6 urban villages in North and South Thousand Islands Sub-districts within January-August period.

This year, we are targeting to add 173 infiltration wells in Thousand Islands Regency

Thousand Islands SDA Sub-agency Head, Hendri conveyed, infiltration wells had been built in 16 points on Pari Island, 10 points on Tidung Islands, 14 points on Pramuka Island, 5 points on Panggang Island and Karya Island, 34 points on Kelapa Islad, 2 points on Kelapa Dua Island, 17 points on Harapan Island, and 10 points on Sebira Island.

"This year, we are targeting to add 173 infiltration wells in Thousand Islands Regency," he mentioned, Thursday (9/2).

In 2020, infiltration wells construction on residential islands was targeted to reach 348 points. His side expected infiltration wells could prevent inundation in the region.

"Infiltration wells also preserve ground water which is very useful in the dry season," he stated.
