Rent Waivers Given to Tanah Abang JPM Traders

Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya through its subsidiary, PT. Saranawisesa Properindo, has provided rent relief for traders on Tanah Abang Multipurpose Crossing Bridge (JPM) in Central Jakarta.

Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya's Asset Management and Marketing Manager, Jemmy Handrianus said, traders were given relief from not paying shop rent for two consecutive months and paying 50 percent of rent in the third month.

"This policy is one of our concern towards JPM traders in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic. We have tried to maintain economic stability for JPM traders, providing relief thus traders can continue to sell without paying the rent in July and August," he conveyed, Thursday (10/7).

On the other hand, PT. Saranawisesa Properindo Operation Director, Arben Bastari stated, from total 446 kiosks in Tanah Abang JPM, 212 of them were temporarily closed.

In detail, 161 kiosks decided to temporarily close and 51 kiosks were also temporarily closed by PT. Saranawisesa Properindo. This closure was carried out based on regulation that have been agreed upon by both parties without coercion from any party.

"Temporarily closure in several kiosks carried out after relaxation and relief given for three consecutive months. We don't close it forever, if they have completed their obligations, we will immediately reopen the relevant kiosks," he explained.

Products offered by traders on Tanah Abang JPM were vary, ranging from clothes, mukena, sarong, to hijab. Tanah Abang JPM looked deserted since COVID-19 pandemic hit. Number of traders have even decided to temporarily close their kiosks.

"No fines will be imposed regarding unresolved obligations by Tanah Abang JPM traders to the manager," he mentioned.
