APE is an award presented by the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection every two years to Ministries/Institutions, Provincial and Regency/City Governments who are deemed to have committed and implemented strategies related to Gender Mainstreaming (PUG).

She explained, gender issues are cross-cutting issues. It meant that issues that could occur anywhere and could not be handled by the agency only. She added, the substance of the program to support PUD is in each regional apparatus which fills it in accordance with their respective duties and functions.
"We continue to be fully committed to efforts to realize gender equality and justice through various strategies that are made in collaboration and ensure equitable development outcomes for all," she stated.
