In the past week, the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Jakarta has slightly increased.

Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes) Head, Widyastuti disclosed, most new cases were not only detected from schools, but also extended to residential areas.

"We'll emphasize ACF to inhibit its transmission potential. We actively launch PCR screening in high-risk locations, namely RT in the red/orange/yellow zone, in closed populations in high-case transmission areas in the RT zone, such as schools, orphanages, offices, dormitories, malls, etc," she expressed, at the Dinkes office, Central Jakarta, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Thursday (10/14).

Her agency also improved ratio tracing. As of October 12, the tracing ratio in Jakarta was 13.62, which means that one positive case was carried out by PCR for an average of 13-14 people who were in close contact. With the number of tests in Jakarta, it would have an impact on the trend of the percentage of positive cases or the positivity rate which also increased. But, the figure was still far below 5%. Based on Dinkes' data, the positivity rate in the past week in Jakarta was 0.8%.

"Despite there is a slight increase in new cases, the death rate remains low. On October 30, it showed zero death and one death on October 12. Vaccination and early detection play a significant role in reducing mortality," she explained.

She added, the coverage of Covid-19 vaccination with Jakarta ID card as of October 13 for first shot was 6,985,464 (78%) and dose 2 was 5,400,282 (60%) of the total population of Jakarta. Related to early detection, positive cases could be found quickly and treated properly, so it did not lead to seriousness and death.

Based on Dinkes' data as for October 31, from 140 hospitals in Jakarta, the isolation bed occupancy percentage was 7% or 369 isolation patients from the total availability of 5,471 isolation beds. As for the percentage of ICU bed occupancy was 19% or 173 ICU patients from the total availability of 935 ICU beds.

"So, for those of you who are active in Jakarta, please stay alert, apply health protocols correctly, and do vaccinations. Let's immediately complete 2 vaccinations for all citizens aged 12 and over. Jakarta is ready to help vaccinate first and second shots for ID cards throughout Indonesia without the need to bring a domicile certificate. It is proven to be effective in preventing hospitalization and death from Covid-19. Hopefully, Jakarta can control this pandemic and positive cases will continue to fall," she concluded.
