Fuel price hikes does not influence the beef price at the market. At this moment, the beef price is still Rp 97 thousand per kilogram and Rp 110 thousand per kilogram for typical beef. Moreover, the beef stock is stable to meet the daily needs.

If the stock is stable, the price won't go up

"Even though the price is stable, but the buyer is getting lower," said Sugeng (46), one of beef sellers in Kramatjati Market, Thursday (11/27).

However, Sugeng predicted, the beef price will go up towards new year by 20 percent. In fact, the price also depends on the stock at the slaughterhouses.

" If the stock is stable, the price won't go up ," he added.

East Jakarta Head Section of Home Trading for Sub-dept. of Micro Small Medium Cooperatives and Trade, Jhony Siregar, stated that the beef price will go up based on a moment such as national day.

"The fuel price hikes usually affecting the staple food price. But it depends on the stock," he stated.

Toward the end of this year, his side is ready to open market operation to assist the citizens.
