Rachmat Gobel, Indonesian Trade Minister (Mendag) visited and inaugurated Meruya Ilir Market at Meruya Utara Urban Village, Kembangan Subdistrict, West Jakarta, Tuesday (11/25). The effort was done after his visit to Pasar Induk traditional market in Kramatjati main Market, East Jakarta, Cipinang Market, Tangerang Market, Santa Market, and Klender Market.

Modern market will give comfort for traders and buyers

From his visit, Rachmat Gobel admitted, he got some suggestion related to market condition.

"The market needs to be improved again. Although the market is more modern, we must improve the system and management to make market clean and have no flies," said Gobel on Tuesday (11/25).

Inline with the regulation, Meruya Ilir Market will be coaching location. Modern market will give comfort for traders and buyers ," Gobel added.

Meruya Ilir Market revitalization, Gobel continued, spent Rp 7,5 billion of budget taken from city budget Rp 2.5 billion and Trade Ministry Rp 5 billion. "There will be more traditional markets revitalized," he continued.

Head Jakarta Cooperatives, Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises and Trade Dept., Joko Kundaryo, explained 226 traders occupied Meruya Ilir market. Their goods are already passed BPOM test.

"We'll send out the traders who selling unworthy products," he said.
