Transjakarta Expands Balai Kota Route to Pantai Maju

City-owned bus operator PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) is expanding the PIK - Balai Kota (1A) route to Balai Kota - Pantai Maju starting today, Monday (10/18).

PT Transjakarta Operational Director, Prasetia Budi said, it was a follow-up to Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Decree number 434/2021 on the Trial of Transjakarta Service Development in PIK Area as the First Phase (Indah Maju).

It is also a form of the company's consistency in expanding its services to areas that have not been crossed by Transjakarta buses, moreover it has become an indispensable part of the daily commute for residents in the capital and its suburbs.

"Our priority is to always provide safe and comfortable transportation that can reach all levels of society in all regions, especially in Jakarta," he expressed.

He explained, there were three new stopping points, namely Pantai Maju, Violin Cluster and Pancoran PIK bus stops. Thus, in total, it has 38 stopping points.

"Balai Kota - Pantai Maju route is connected to several other services such as Kota - Kali Adem (12A), Pluit - Senen (12B) and Kalideres - Muara Angka (JAK-52)," he explained.

For this route, he added, as many as 20 single bus fleets have been provided to serve the public every day starting at 5 AM  to 9:30 PM with 10 to 15-minute headway.

"All customers must show proof of vaccination as a condition for using Transjakarta services and are prompted to comply with all applicable regulations," he stated.

He added, the customer capacity was also limited to a maximum of 50 percent with the provision that the articulated bus could only carry a maximum of 60 customers, single bus or maxi bus with a maximum of 30 customers, medium bus with a maximum of 15 customers and Mikrotrans with a maximum of six customers.

"All buses operating have met very strict health protocol standards, starting from being cleaned with disinfectant liquid regularly, installing safe distance signs on the floor and customer seats, as well as the availability of hand sanitizers," he uttered.
