Building Cooperation with Blitar and Gorontalo, Anies Wants to Help Accelerate National Economy

In order to assist central government's efforts in accelerating national economy during COVID-19 pandemic, Jakarta Provincial Government has established inter-regional cooperation with Gorontalo Regency and Blitar Regency.

Through this cooperation, hopefully we can work together in a sustainable manner by providing mutual benefits

On this occasion, Jakarta Provincial Government cooperates with Gorontalo Regency as an effort to develop potential of each region and improve public service. While cooperation with Blitar Regency is carried out as an effort to build synergy, in the context of providing food and improving public welfare in each regions.

"Indonesia is too big for us to work alone. Central government has run various programs. We in the region, should support economy acceleration through inter-regional cooperation like this. Through this cooperation, hopefully we can work together in a sustainable manner by providing mutual benefits," said Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan at Jakarta City Hall, as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release on Thursday (10/21).

He explained that once the cooperation is established, it must be managed properly. Management must be carried out with a good market mechanism, thus sustainability of inter-regional cooperation can continue for a long period.

"We encourage BUMD as spearhead in providing supply, while SKPD is in charge of submitting request. Thus stability of work portion goes on track. This is the market mechanism we want. Hopefully in Jakarta, Blitar, and Gorontalo can benefit each other. We can also realize it through cooperation based on social justice," he conveyed.

This inter-regional cooperation was enthusiastically responded by Gorontalo Regent, Nelson Pomalingo because during the pandemic situation, economic system in each region must undergo significant changes. Therefore, cooperation with Jakarta Government, as the center of national economy, is very vital and necessary.

"The potential of each region is very important for this inter-regional cooperation in meeting the needs, especially in dealing with pandemic situation. Our potential is in agriculture, especially corn. We also develop cattle farming, which can be a beginning of our cooperation with Jakarta," he mentioned.

On the other hand, Blitar Regent, Rini Syarifah said, inter-regional cooperation can be a place for discussion, thus each government can strengthen each other's potential. This will lead to mutually beneficial relationship between regions for the happiness of residents.

"We need to cooperate to deal with various problems, such as livestock in Blitar, where we need corn-based feed. We also focus on developing processed livestock products such as eggs and koi fish cultivation. We hope the potential of this cooperation will not only focus on characteristics of each region, but can exchange products with each other," she stated.

For information, this inter-regional cooperation was agreed symbolically through the signing of MoU by Governor Anies, Regent Nelson, and Regent Rini. This activity was also attended by Jakarta Secretary, Marullah Matali and his subordinates and government of Gorontalo Regency and Blitar Regency.
