Transjakarta Returns to Carry 100 Percent of Customers

As the Jakarta administration gradually eases Covid-19 social restrictions and reopens certain business sectors, PT Transportation Jakarta (Transjakarta) has started to carry customers by 100 percent starting October 21.

It is compliance with Governor Decree number 1245/2021 on PPKM Level 2 and Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub)'s Decree number 441/2021 on Technical Guidelines for Limiting Transport Capacity and Operational Time of Transportation Facilities in PPKM Level 2.

PT Transportation Operational Director, Prasetia Budi said, it was in line with the recovery in community activities as the PPKM status which was declared dropped to level 2.

"Later all the markings installed on the floor of the bus stop, bus and customer seats will be removed gradually," he expressed, Thursday (10/21).

He explained, the number of fleets would be adjusted, including routes and other Transjakarta services which had been temporarily suspended in order to curb the spread of Covid-19 and would also be reoperated gradually.

"We're going to continuously evaluate and provide the best and maximum possible service to customers. We'll strive to be consistent in providing a safe and comfortable transportation service for the public to use, especially during the pandemic," he explained.

According to him, Transjakarta still applies strict health protocol standards, either at the bus stop or on the bus. Every customer is required to show proof of having vaccinated against Covid-19 to officers through the PeduliLindungi or JAKI application before entering the bus stop gate. They could also use printed or digital certificate documents via their respective mobile phones.

He added, other health protocols applied was wearing a mask, checking body temperature and hand sanitizers to ensure hand hygiene while in Transjakarta area. All bus fleets were also ensured that they had been regularly cleaned using disinfectant.

"It aims to ensure, customers still feel safe and comfortable. Despite the PPKM level has dropped to level 2, we must not be careless. To make sure everything goes according to the applicable rules, our officers are ready in the field," he stated.
