East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency cleaned up Pulo Nangka and Pulomas Horse Race connecting (Phb) channels. This cleaning work has been carried out since October and targeted to finish in December 2021.

East Jakarta SDA Sub-agency's Maintenance Section Head, Puryanto mentioned, his side deployed 2 long arm excavators to dredge mud from those two connecting channels which have length about 1.5 kilometers. The progress has now reached 15 percent.

"The progress has now reached about 15 percent. Our target is to finish it in December," he conveyed, Friday (10/22).
This mud dredging work on two connecting channels that lead to Ria Rio Reservoir, he continued, was carried out to anticipate flooding during rainy season.
"Mud dredging is carried out to depth of one meter. It is done to increase channels' capacity and prevent it from overflowing and causing inundation," he explained.
According to him, the dredged mud was dumped to Rare Plants Garden area belonging to East Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency in Pulogebang, Cakung, using 7 dump trucks with capacity 22 cubic meters each.
