Flood, Garbage and Mud in Kampung Melayu Cleaned

We are here to help local residents affected by flood in RW 04, 05, 07 and 08, to speed up post-flood handling

As many as 17 joint personnel have been deployed to clean up garbage and mud left after the flood in Kampung Melayu, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, on Sunday (10/31). It happened after the Ciliwung River overflowed on Sunday early morning.

Kampung Melayu Urban Village Head, Angga Harjuno said, those personnel were from PPSU, Water Resources (SDA) Task Force , and Satpol PP.

"We are here to help local residents affected by flood in RW 04, 05, 07 and 08, to speed up post-flood handling," he expressed.

According to him, the river overflowed at around 2:30 AM and hit parts of RW 04, 05, 07 and 08. The water level reached 35 to 90 centimeters height.

Then at 2:30 PM, the inundation left around 25 centimeters height in RT 10 and 11/RW 05 l, as its locations was right on the edge of the river.

Until 3:15 PM, personnel were still cleaning garbage and mud using broom sticks, hoes, dustpan, cangkrang, sacks and so on.

"Our personnel will remain on standby to help," he stressed.
